Youth Mens Winner – Troy |Cole
Giba Gorge MTB Park played host to the adrenaline-fuelled action of the KZN Provincial Enduro on March 10th, 2024, powered by Greg Minnaar Cycles.
With fun-filled trails and scorching temperatures, this race proved to be a test of endurance and skill for both seasoned riders and newcomers alike. The race featured a total of five stages for seasoned riders, while the lite category had three stages, ensuring a mix of technical challenges and fast-paced descents. 130 riders eagerly lined up at the start, including an record 30 entries in the E-bike category, highlighting the growing popularity of electric-assist bikes in the enduro scene.

As riders prepared for the season opening competition, they faced the added challenge of soaring temperatures. With the sun beating down relentlessly, staying hydrated and managing heat became crucial factors in the day’s strategy. Giba Gorge MTB Park offered a diverse range of trails, from flowing descents to off camber turns. Each stage designed to be rider friendly as the season opener, they were met with big smiles all round.
Overall Winner Keira Duncan
As the seasoned riders tackled the five stages in search of crucial series points, spectators cheered on as riders flew down the descents, showcasing their skills and finesse on the trails especially over features such as Monster. Meanwhile, the Ebike category added an electrifying element to the competition, with riders harnessing the power of their electric-assist bikes to conquer the challenging climbs and power through the stages. The dedicated Ebike power stage offered a thrilling display of technical ability and agility as competitors vied for the top spot.
Once the dust had settled, it was front runner favourite Keira Duncan who claimed the top step overall with another commanding lead, with local Keagan Brand hot on his heels. Rounding up the overall podium was Andrew Pretorious and Liam Read, with youngster Youth, Troy Cole finishing on the 5th spot.

In the ladies competition Amber Cole took the top honours with Jade Davies taking the second spot and Jodi MacKinnon, Nikki Kew and Riley Smith rounding up the Top 5 places.
The hotly contested EBike Class was topped by local Bradley Crouch, followed by Keith Kew, newcomer Dane Escreet, Keith Diederichs and PYGA’s Pat Morewood taking 5th overall.
The Womens Ebike podium saw Mandy Preston taking the win, followed by Fiona Williams and Minsie Trisos.
